News for the 12 Eligible Official World Golf Ranking Tournaments
PGA Tour - RBC Canadian Open
New Zealander Ryan Fox has clinched his second PGA TOUR victory in just five weeks, triumphing over Sam Burns in a dramatic four-hole playoff at the RBC Canadian Open.
Fox, who won the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic last month with a chip-in birdie in a playoff, sealed this latest victory at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley with a spectacular 3-wood to within seven feet on the fourth extra hole. His precision shot on the par-5 18th left Burns with a challenging lie, leading to a missed birdie opportunity for the American. Fox then tapped in for his winning birdie.
The 38-year-old had forced the playoff with an 18-foot birdie putt on the 18th in regulation, carding a 4-under 66 to match Burns' 18-under 262. The playoff saw both players battle it out over the 18th hole, with Fox ultimately delivering the decisive blow.
The win propels Fox from 75th to 32nd in the world rankings, securing his spot in next week's U.S. Open. Kevin Yu, who finished one shot out of the playoff, earned a spot in The Open Championship next month along with Cameron Young and Matt McCarty.

DP World Tour - KLM Open
Scottish golfer Connor Syme has clinched his first DP World Tour title, fending off playing partner Joakim Lagergren to win the 2025 KLM Open by two shots. The 29-year-old Scot, in his 182nd appearance on the tour, maintained control throughout Sunday's final round at The International in Amsterdam, closing out a breakthrough victory.
"Unbelievable," Syme exclaimed after his win. "It was so, so difficult the last few days... I just felt so much better this week, I felt really ready to do it, and I'm so, so happy I managed to do it."
Starting the day with a two-shot lead over Lagergren, the final round effectively became a head-to-head battle. Syme extended his lead early with a birdie on the second hole. Despite a late bogey, his first in 33 holes, and a spirited eagle finish from Lagergren, Syme held his nerve with consistent play, including crucial up-and-downs and nerveless pars. He ultimately two-putted from 70 feet on the 18th to secure his place among Scottish KLM Open champions like Colin Montgomerie.
Syme's emotional victory was celebrated with a champagne shower from compatriot Ewen Ferguson and an embrace from his wife Alanis, who had flown in to surprise him. He is the 12th different first-time winner on this season's DP World Tour, expressing his delight at finally achieving a win on this stage after previous amateur and HotelPlanner Tour victories.

Austin Smotherman secured his second career Korn Ferry Tour victory on Sunday at the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX, carding a final-round 67 to finish at 25-under-par. The 31-year-old’s win came despite a 1-hour, 16-minute lightning delay that interrupted the final round at 8:44 a.m.
Smotherman's impressive finish included three birdies in his final four holes, giving him a three-stroke victory over Sebastian Cappelen, Carl Yuan, and Pierceson Coody. This marks his first win since the 2021 Simmons Bank Open and moves him to fourth on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points List.

Japan Golf Tour - BMW Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup
Taiga Semikawa has clinched his first title in two years, defeating Mikumu Horikawa in a dramatic playoff at the BMW Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup on Sunday. The 24-year-old, recently sidelined for over a month with a rib stress fracture, birdied two of his final three holes to force extra time after a closing 66 at Shishido Hills Country Club.
Semikawa's four-day total of 10-under-par 272 set the clubhouse target, putting pressure on Horikawa in the final group. While Horikawa couldn't find the crucial birdies needed to avoid a playoff, Semikawa held his nerve, securing victory with a birdie on the first playoff hole.
"The tension was extremely high. I barely remembered my winning putt!" said a relieved Semikawa. "When I was two shots behind with three holes left, I was praying to the golfing gods." He added that the win validates his rehabilitation work and signals his readiness to compete at the highest level once more.

Sunshine Tour - The Mopani Zambia Open
Samuel Simpson has secured his first win on the Sunshine Tour, triumphing at the Mopani Zambia Open. The young South African's final round of three-under-par 69 at Nkana Golf Club was enough to edge out Herman Loubser by a single stroke, finishing at 11 under par.
Loubser, who had led since the opening round, faltered with a closing 76, leaving the door open for Simpson. Despite starting the day five shots behind, Simpson's bogey-free round and ability to minimise errors proved decisive as Loubser struggled with three bogeys and a double bogey.
The contest remained tight, with the pair tied for the lead through 17 holes. However, a bogey from Loubser on the 18th handed the victory to Simpson. Luke Jerling, JJ Senekal, and Lyle Rowe shared third place. Simpson becomes the second maiden winner on the Sunshine Tour this season.

He credited his putting for helping him avoid bogeys, particularly on the front nine. Nordic Golf League - Samsø Festival Classic - by United Tickets
Jamie Tofte Nielsen braved tempestuous conditions to secure his maiden professional victory at the Samsø Festival Pro-Am – by United Tickets. Friday's final round was a true test of endurance, with strong winds and sideways rain impacting players from the 7:00 AM tee-off.
The challenging weather proved particularly tough for overnight leader Morten Ørum Madsen, who began the day with a three-shot advantage. A triple bogey on the first hole set the tone for his round, and he ultimately carded an 80, finishing in a tie for ninth.
In stark contrast, Søllerød's Jamie Tofte Nielsen delivered what he called "probably the best round of my life under these circumstances." His exceptional 69 was nearly seven shots better than the field's average score of 75.88. Nielsen, who turned professional after his college stint in Toledo in summer 2024, remained at or under par throughout the day. His decisive moment came on the par-4 14th, where he holed out for an eagle from just off the green, taking a three-shot lead he never relinquished. He cemented his victory with a birdie on the 18th, finishing three strokes ahead of a chasing pack that included Danes Sebastian Wiis, Magnus Østergaard, Mads Låge, and Norway's Tom Røed Karlsen.
